changing ignition, I got the clip off but it won't slide and no tutorial tells you how to do it.

changing ignition, I got the clip pulled back something ain't letting the column slide off but column it won't slide and no tutorial tells you how to do it.

Looks like someone has been prying on the bearing/seal, probably causing burrs
 
OK look at this see that clip I have pushed back off the plate/ bearing is that another clip or THE clip and this one just holds that on? And behind that ring is the bearing.
 
The little snap ring that sits above the bearing will generate a burr at the ring groove. That bearing is sooo weak that a good puller could destroy it, depending on the resistance from the burr. This never was a press fit bearing to shaft. Forces applied at the steering wheel causes movement, generates the burr.
What I always do is pull the shaft up a tad to better expose the ring groove and clean it up with a small smooth file. The bearing with collar should then side right off.
