Rip off? Just tried to order 2 like items from them. If you shipped this by USPS FLAT RATE, it would be $12-13. Not only were the charging me over $18 but wanted to double the shipping to over $36. They were 2 of the same items. WOW. DONE WITH CLASIC INDUSTRIES.

Yeah they're a bunch of good for nothings. They sell junk, charge way too much for it and then bend you over on the shipping. I don't get why businesses don't use flat rate boxes. They're FREE.

Classic Industries has always be HIGH on shipping, I just take that into consideration when shopping and only use them when I absolutely have to.

As far as using flat rate boxes, I don't trust the post office to deliver my weekly Piggly Wiggly ad. Why would I trust them to deliver the products that keep my business going? I almost NEVER click the USPS option when shipping.

Yeah I don’t know who’s worse, the usps or FedEx when it comes to shipping.

I don't think it's just them (Classic Industries). I'm not defending them, but just last night I was on "Cheap Honda Parts" (dot) com (or something like that), as I need new wiper blades for my '21 Ridgeline, and the offerings at O'Reilly's, NAPA, etc, just don't get the job done. Anyway, found a set of OEM refills (remember those?) for about $2.50 each, so I put them in my cart. Went to checkout, and the shipping was over $22....for two little pieces of rubber!

Screw that!

Looked them up at a few Honda dealers around here, and they want almost $10 each for those little pieces of rubber. Seems like The Man is out to get ya no matter what you do....

Anyway, in my opinion it's the shipping companies (UPS, FedEx, USPS) that are screwing us.

Hey everyone,

We wanted to jump in and offer some context around shipping, since it’s an understandable and recurring concern.

Shipping costs today are genuinely high across the board. Carrier rates from UPS, FedEx, and USPS have risen significantly over the past several years, and those increases affect every business that ships physical products. Unfortunately, those carrier rates are something we can’t control.

Beyond the carrier charges, shipping also includes packaging and handling (boxes, protective materials, reinforced tape, and labor,) all of which are necessary to make sure parts arrive safely and undamaged. Cutting corners there usually leads to damaged shipments, delays, and frustration for customers, which we work hard to avoid.

Importantly, shipping and handling is not a profit center for us. In many cases, when rates are underestimated by our system, we actually lose money on shipping and absorb the difference rather than pass it along.

We do try to offset shipping costs when we can by offering free-shipping promotions (for example, Free Shipping on Orders Over $199) as well as regular discount offers. Our customer service team also has the ability to review and adjust shipping charges when something doesn’t look right, either before or after an order ships.

We understand shipping can be frustrating; as enthusiasts and consumers, we feel it too. And we genuinely appreciate the feedback. Our goal is always to deliver parts safely, fairly, and as affordably as possible, while continuing to improve where we can.

Over the years, I have bought a lot of Mopar parts from Classic Industries. When I restored my 69 Barracuda back in 2012-2015, I bought a LOT from them. All the parts, with one small exception, were very good quality. The one not so great part was the Turn Signal Cancelling Cam, and they offered to replace it for me. I got on their Email list, and I got frequent sale Emails. Frequently 25% off entire order. Shipping was a bit high, but I was saving 25% on the entire order. Shipping is getting expensive everywhere. I can understand a company having to charge what it costs them. However, from what @rbkt65 said about $36 charge for two similar items, that sounds like a computer glitch. If the computer knows that a certain Item will be $18 to ship, then a programming glitch could lead the computer to simply double that $18 rate rather than consider putting both items into one box. That might be something to look into.
I will say this, though. I pretty much stopped buying from Eastwood because of high prices and high/poor shipping. I have been powder coating for about 25 years, and I used to get all of my powder from Eastwood. Over the years their powder kept going up and up, shipping went up, and shipping got slower. It got to the point where I was happy if I got my powder in less than a week. Then I found Prismatic Powders. Their powders are about 15-25% cheaper than Eastwood on the colors I normally use. Prismatic's shipping is not cheap, but it is cheaper than Eastwood's was. Plus, I normally get my powder in four days.

It's the same all over. I was making an order for 10 bulbs for a total cost of $3.74 from Rock Auto that probably weigh 10oz in total. Cheapest shipping choice USPS $17.97. Needless to say I didn't place the order.

Again, I bet that is a computer glitch. Since it is practically impossible to contact a human being at RA, there is no way to pass that on to them.

We are paging $20 per hour minimum wage for the guy too package it!!! then another guy $30 per hour to print out the shipping label.:BangHead:

I bought an NOS bumper for a 71 Ford Maverick, off FeeBay other day, he wrapped it in cardboard tight , shrink wrap and packaging tape and sent it to me for $45 USPS. $235 total. I got it in 4 days. I need a good rear one, so I have a member on FB Mav. site that sells used parts, he has a list more than a weekend seller. He has a good used one, twice the price and refuses to wrap it, says it takes TOO long, :BangHead: has to go in a box!
But I quit buying anything form Classic Industries about 20 years ago!!

Often I find Rockauto is still cheaper with shipping costs and at least can supply the parts.

I've never seen a low cost choice at Classic and I bought $5k of parts there a couple of years ago as it seemed to make sense at the time. A lot of other vendors fall into that category. I paid more than 10% in shipping charges. I am always amazed at how Summit and Rockauto are able to to get parts here so cheaply and are able to avoid or include very low customs and brokerage charges. Even with shipping charges they are often cheaper than Amazon or local vendors (if either has it). UPS is my last choice and that is all some vendors offer.

ps if they can't give you an eta just order the part somewhere else
