Cleaning Automotive Glass

Best spray cleaner I've used, was in the glass-shops.

This isn't for the haze but I wash mine with 91% alcohol once or twice and take a new razor blade over the entire glass and wash again once or twice with the alcohol and wax it. It comes out real nice. ps don't use a blade on rear window defroster lines. lol

Also, the Rain-X on my windshield, after a few hundred mile trip, my blades began to rub off on the windshield and vibrate as they were dragged across.

New blades seemed to cure it, but only got a slight drizzle in of use.

My inside hazes up after I use Windex and I wipe it down with a clean micro cloth and it comes out good. Them rainx. I also wipe my wiper blades with alcohol cotton balls, and the junk that comes off is surprising. I replace them once a year before winter. Got a new windshield last year on my daily. The thing looked like it went through a sand blaster, and was a pain for my old eyes at night.

The last couple windshields I did, they were hazed and I'd clean 'em and they would haze again. I think it's something evaporating from the Chinesium gaskets, which I can smell breaking down, whereas the old gaskets didn't smell hardly at all. It seems to collect visibly in the corners but smears and makes 'em an absolute ***** to clean.

I just got a gasket for my D250 and the gasket smells like a Harbor Freight tire section. I'm looking for a non-Chinese alternative.

being a truck driver ive cleaned many many windshields, when nothing else will cut the oil n bug guts slime that builds up over time, when windex or viniger ant getting it done,.... coke cola!! works every time!
Late September of 2005, I was headed to Texas in a big convoy of bucket trucks to work after Hurricane Rita. We ran thru Love Bugs somewhere in Louisiana. I bought a 16 oz Coke and sprayed it on the windshield and it cleaned them nasty little bastards right off there!

Hot water, dawn dish soap and a real sponge, not a rag or towel. You want a soap solution, 2cups,not a bucket of water. Buff the glass with the sponge/solution, rinse/wipe clean and dry. Now window cleaner with newspaper. I do this once a month to keep the crud off the windows in a minivan with 4 kids.
