Being I have the dash out and painted, just thought about what is the best way to clean the gauges before installing the dash back in the car after I finish painting.

Can you reface them.....I saw them do it on Gravardyard Carz looked easy good and fast...

Thought I would do the lenses and the face
Just small stuff I can do inside while it's cool outside

well - without being "that guy" who has to hammer you with the obvious - be very careful, use nothing abrasive (as in softer than common paper towels), your favorite glass cleaners will suffice - and when you get into them - I'm thinking q-tips for the edge work... if you have to go "'wet" to the insides to remove stubborn $h!t - be very very light with it - getting H2O out of those crevasses is a bugger.

Just depends on what gauges you're talking about. Some of them are so tender at needles and movement that you could screw them up in handling.
Its best to remove the screens but that operation varies too.
Flat black screens can be cleaned to a point. If they are sunburned, that cant be cleaned. Brushed metal finish screens cant be cleaned. Odometer digit wheels cannot be cleaned. Bottom line, there are decals for that. premiumdashdecals.com.

Thanks
the speedometer and fuel, oil pressure really don't look that bad. I just thought that was something I could do inside for now
just looking for small things I could finish before spring comes around and I can really get to work on finishing my barracuda
