clunk

I recently purchased a 1973 Dodge Dart Swinger. It has a 318 in it and seems to run real strong for a small block.
Any time I go over any small crack or bump in the road I hear a clunking noise. I suspected shocks and put two new ones on the front. It still clunks.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I would guess you have a suspesion problem with ball jionts and tie rods or the idler arms are really lose.Its best to put it on the lift and do a complete check up on the suspension and brakes,and check for any type of rattle from even the exhuast pipes as well.check the tranny mount and the rear suspensio too.You should be able to find some thing on the lift,mrmopartech
