Has anybody had any experience with this Comp Cam # XTQ294S-8 part no. 23-362-5, especially for use on the street?

Specs are:

Duration - 294/299
Duration @ .050" - 264/270
Lift - .567/.579
Lobe lift- 0.378/0.386

It`s a 500 c.i. engine with 11-1 compression but even with that I didn`t think it would act right on the street, the powerband is in the 3500- 6800 range.

Well actually with a 500 ci engine and 11 to 1 compression it should work ok. It'll be pretty lumpy but should work fine if all else is matched. I hope you got some good heads to go with it.

I have the very same Comp cam in my 505 RB 68 Cuda.
Victor intake , 950 Holly , Cnc'ed Stealth heads . 11.2 - 1 compression , 440 Source 505 kit
I wanted a rumbling idle in my Cuda . The big cubes will smooth it out a bunch . My engines not together yet , but a fellow member on here sent me a video link awhile back with a 500 CI with this cam and his car sounded very good , but not radical. But still smoother then I expected for this whopper of a cam .
Im also running 3.73 Dana 60 , drag radials with a Dynamics converter

That`s just the kind of feedback I was looking for. Thank you Donnie.

I think it's a great choice. You will hear it regardless of the stroke, but it wont be crazy bad. Just lumpy.
