ok....yah leaking heater core.............shop vac it up...tie heater hosess together...suck out the remaining coolent from the core.....but whet is your remedy to get the carpet clean of that nasty stuff....???? douche with water and keep vacing it up ???

What I did as the antifreeze was pooled in the lower parts and ribs of the floor, and the carpet was too saturated and could not get it to dry.

Pull the door sill and the kickpanel on that side, pull back the carpet, pull the nearest floor drain plugs.

Roll up a towel and put it near the seat, to keep water from running under the seat and towards the rear footwell.

Lay carpet back down, rinse it with a hot water hose, scrub it with soapy water, rinse again.

Dry floor and carpet with towel, let sit in sun or warm shop.

Remove seat and carpet completely to air dry (two/three days?) Replace the heater core. It's not brain surgery.

coolent NEVER DRYS..WHAT ARE YOU NEW???? it leves a film..or just wet......to get it out of the carpet you MUST keep diluting it untill its gone...as matthon had intelligently already shared............if your going to give your half cent opinion....keep from being a *** h....the value might go up from zero...

ok......where????
Your nasty response. His response to you "it's not brain surgery" wasn't meant as an insult. We're like a bunch of car guys sittin around a wood burnin stove in the shop. You need to be able to take a little of this, :poke:. Car guys aren't pussies and they don't sugar coat stuff. You should be able to take some ribbing, like a bunch of car guys will and do to each other. He took time out of his day to offer a suggestion. You should be thankful for that.

Putting a new core in mine now. Hasn't had heat for years so no antifreeze spilled. Wasn't even gonna' try the original though. The new core lower tube was 3/8" too far to the left, and wouldn't fit the box at all.
Jegs said to go ahead and bend it, check it, if it makes it leak we'll take care of it.

FWIW, I shot all those case clips with a little WD40.
They all came off easy pushing down on one side and prying the curled side away with a 90° pick.

I put a new core in my 88 S10 recently, aluminum that was smaller with inlet/outlet in the not exactly correct positions.

My 62 Valiant heater core went, brought it to the local been around for 100 years probably going to go out of business sooner than later because no one will take it over radiator repair shop.

$45 cash out the door 24 hrs turnaround, identical to original.

Makes me want to bring everything there now, broken or not, before it's gone.
