You may have something going on with your pulleys too. Hard to tell. This is my '69, square back alt, stock single groove pulleys. Bought the brackets from Mega. I do have aluminum heads, I had to make a thin washer at the head.
I was going by the diagram in post #2. It clearly shows that bracket is flipped differently than yours.I'll give that a look. But if I flip it to the bottom, it will be curving away from the engine, not toward it. Plus, the long mounting bolt won't line up to the threaded hole in the cylinder head, will it?
Because the brackets on my 67 273 are factory stock and fit correctly.Given all that, I don't know why you say I have the wrong brackets
I'm not trying to be argumentative. I'm still putting things on the table that I find to be inconsistent with what you and others are advising. It's all an attempt to get to the bottom of it. Please don't be offended. When I get access to my computer, I'll show you a few perfect examples of what I mean.Because the brackets on my 67 273 are factory stock and fit correctly.
The triangular bracket is flat
The bracket you have has a bend in it and does not fit right
I'm sorry but maybe they mis packaged the kit, or sent you the wrong one.
I have provided several examples of what's correct and why, and you for some reason keep arguing with me so take care and good luck
I'm not offended I'm frustrated. I show you the proper setup and you tell me that your setup that does not work is correct. Please don't be offended
