Some of you already know I'm in the process of selling my house with a move back home to Upper Michigan next month. I'm trailering the cuda up there this weekend and also looking at a house while I'm there. The house is decent on 2 acres bordering woods for miles....nice enough but not as nice as the garage! Check this out........
I'm hopeful, it's exactly what I have been looking for....Hope it all pans out. If it's good there will be an immediate offer.

Upper Michigan? Snow yikes. The only thing good about winter up there is time spent in the shop, priceless. Best of luck.

Where in the UP, EEH. I'm not to far the border. Close to Iron Mtn.

I'm from Negaunee, this house is in Gwinn. The garage is insulated so it's a start, looks like it has an office of sorts? Guess that will be the break room / kitchen/ etc I can see my winters being spent in the garage.....Good thing I'm single Ha HA

Good luck! 1600 sq. ft. of garage and 1000+ sq. ft. of house - sounds about right for a single guy! Sounds like the priorities are perfect.
And with deep snow you can shut the house down and live in the garage if necessary.

We're through there every month or two on our way to Bruce Crossing. I have a very good friend in Gwinn that we stop to see. He is a Jeep guy as well but his are 60+ years old. Hopefully we will see you in the Cuda while we are in town some time.

Well, hopefully some time down the road we will be able to hook up. Just got the cuda put together enough to load on the trailer. Looks like a jig saw puzzle, nothing is really alligned panel wise but even as a hot mess trailer queen I think it looks pretty good. The poor car should have probably been crushed it was so bad at the start and still has a way to go but I'm in it for the long haul. I'll get a couple pics of it on the trailer tomorrow.

Who cares about the house! Live in that sweet garage!

Thats what I'm talking about. 40" flat panel in there somewhere and sweet sound system. good layout for working in there and I'll be set. Who needs the house.....Although the elevated deck on the back of the house will make deer season an easy one!!

you can always rent the house for a second income , fold down the back seat and sleep in the cargo area , "beats drivin cross Wisconsin in a beat up Chevrolet"

I retired from the Navy 5 years ago, live in a city (YUK) and don't see my self being able to sustain the pace I do now to make a living. I still go to sea to support the fleet and although I will miss blowing **** up on a regular basis I like you need to down size, simplify and I would also like a hoist ! Ha HA.
Thanks all for the well wishes, I'm pumped about this and hope it works out.

Joe, the house looks great -- LOVE the room off the deck with those windows! -- and the garage seems perfect. Hope it feels like home as soon as you walk in and the closing is painless. Keep us posted! :-D

Were getting ready to make tracks to the great white north. If you see us on the road between Virginia and Upper Michigan make some noise!!

Just a little update. we made the 1200 mile trip home with the cuda in tow. No issues and it was a smooth pull all the way up there. I did put a bid on the place, the garage was every bit as good as it looked and more. the house needs some work and new roof but I ended up putting in an offer on it and am waiting to hear back. So for an 81 hour weekend that started on the road at 8pm last Thursday and ended yesterday home again at 6am we logged 41.5 hours of behind the wheel time 1/2 with the cuda in tow and the other half with an empty trailer. I'm absolutely sure I don't want to do that again any time soon!

Joe,

That really is God's country up there. My family emmigrated to that part of the nation about 150 years ago and I've spent many, many months camping, fishing and hunting up there.

The house and garage are awesome and I wish you all the best of luck.

The only possible issue I see with that house is that the roof pitch doesn't seem high enough to shed snow. I absolutely love the garage, and the photo from inside the House!
