Somebody splain me this please before I inadvertantly make some starting line faux pau' and become forever allienated or worse.

I normally go on and stage. Unless a tard that likes to play around up there.
All it amounts to is if you prestage first you allow your competion to turn his top light on before you turn on your bottom bulb. Then the opposite if stages first. He allows you to turn your top light on before he lights them both.

You pre stage then he pre stage's. It is just so no one goes straight to the stage light.
You don't roll in and break both beams (double bulbing) before the other guy has pre-stage lit.

Am I somehow rushing or hurrying him if I pull up and light both. Sorry for my ignorance, I have only been to T&T , not yet bracket raced.
...............and sometimes starters like to do some larnin' to the "late stagers" playing games. What THIS amounts to is if you screw around late staging, and piss everybody off, the starter might just start the tree the same time the last stage light goes on. If you are the guy "playing" you might be late!!

So just a matter of waiting for the other guy, within reason. I guess I never considered it, just figuring the tree dosnt start until both cars are fully staged.

I had a guy roll in on both bulbs before I had time to pre stage. He rolled over and went red. Not a big deal to me, but I know others who would be pissed.

Wow, I never knew this. I've just done T&T and the annual antique drags, but I've always just gone up and staged. Never waited for the other guy to stage or pre-stage first. Nobody's ever said anything to me about it or seemed pissed off. They just wonder how such crappy looking Duster just ran what it did.
Some tracks...during time trials and eliminations have a Super Start system that starts to count down once 3 of the 4 lights are lit....gives the last driver 7 seconds to stage or the tree turns red for him

I'm assuming your just foot braking a automatic, which is the easiest to get used to. Once you've done your burnout, just roll up close to the beams and check where your opponent is. If there close to the beams also you can go ahead and pre stage. Once the're pre staged just play your own game and go in and stage when comfortable, within reason, and don't let them throw you off your game. Same deal if they stage first, you do your deal. Everyone you run will be different but you'll get the hang of it. While your waiting to run, just hang around the line and observe the faster classes and put yourself in there cars. Watch close and pretend it's you in there. You'll pick it up quick. Once you get some experience, just remember, you're not there to be courteous to them, you're there to win.

It is just that. Courtesy. With a box and dial in sometimes it takes a bit to get the numbers in. Or a second to get the smoke to clear up after the burnout. I dont like it when the other guy jumps up there like hes trying to rush me. I aint rushing.

If you go up there and put both lights on...pre stage and stage....it will probably take me several minutes before i prestage....
you got to be flexible ...stage first..stage last...not get rattled
Ask Greg Anderson how he feels about getting double bulbed... LOL

I agree with you guys in a pro setting. Both pre staged and a 7 sec window after the first stage, yea i can live with that. My understanding is the op is talking about local bracket racing. I always got my Sh*t done and was pre staged in a quick fashion, but i've had 20 sec. junk roll right into the beams against me and they could kiss my a**. And they wern't newbies. What i was trying to convey to the op was, you paid for the opportunity to run so don't let the other guy dictate what you do.

I usually end up pre staging first. then when were both pre staged i bump in until i just brake the 2nt beam. I could care less if he beats me to the 2nt bulb or he is slow. That's my pace and you can full stage first or 2nt. makes no difference to me. but if you want full stage first......You had better be quick!
