I found a base for $100 (really! Craigslist Connecticut using the old illegal Craigspal search tool) and made a top out of 1/4, then 3/8 plate. 1/4 didnt last one hiccup under 2 390 carbs. 3/8 spreadbore pattern hole worked great under 1 650 Demon with a spreadbore spacer. BUDDY BARR casting ( there were actually 2 STR-12 base patterns, one had a slightly different front water outlet angle iirc)
