Not much happened today except 1 step forward, 2 steps back..... I have to strip my dash frame and re-paint it. The finish looked aweful after I painted it, so we'll try again. I also mounted my non-A/C heater box into my A/C firewall and realized one of the holes I welded up shouldn't have been welded. Now I have to drill through fresh paint on the firewall.... And fabricate a new bezel that surounds the blower motor to hide the big friggen hole the A/C system uses. No big deal.

I also installed the side glass whiskers and trim, along with the door handles and mirrors. I also installed the hood turn indicators, side marker lights, and the fish emblem on the hood. I got lucky and drove past my shop on my way home and they were still open at 4:00 on a Saturday! (Poor bastards....) and I grabbed my drills and air drill. Tomorrow we'll try and do the headliner and heater box.

And of course, here's a few pictures:

Your`re moving fast forward, looking great. You`ll be out on the road in
no time.

This must be the fun time. Savor these moments. Mike

Actually, your right. I fixed the antenna for my satellite radio so I had tunes pumping... NO ONE stopped by to "help" me.... and the weather is BEAUTIFUL! I'm really enjoying putting it together nice & easy.

Coming along nicely John!:headbang: I'm jealous, haven't touched mine since i tore up my shoulder.

How IS your shoulder? I hurt mine a few years ago (torn rotator...) and it hurt like hell. Did you go for orthroscopic surgery, or just therapy?

....................... keep the pictures coming

O.K.... I'll keep the details coming if people are interested in seeing it all go together. Personally, I enjoy watching other people post nut & bolt sequences of re-assembly. That's where you pick up on the little things that could trip you up, such as doing this before that, or don't break this cause they're impossible to find, etc.

Here's todays dose of inching along:

I sanded and re-primed the dash frame. I have a few spots that aren't too nice, and I know with my luck the glass (once everthings installed...) will magnify the blemishes. So I'm going to try REAL HARD to get the top of the dash frame damn near perfect. It can be done by anyone. It's just a matter of doing it once or twice. Maybe even 5 times, like this will be for me.

In these pictures the dash looks really good, but in person you can see the goobers in the finish. And the top of the dash is the focal point from outside. I gotta get it NICE.

I'm tempted to have it powder coated satin black....and be done with it.

I had the ortho done back in 91 and it obviously didn't work like it was supposed to so now my Dr. is sending me to see a specialist.
He said that i'm gonna have to have reconstuctive surgery because it has so much damage now,so that's something i have to look forward to.
Good news is that i screwed it up at work this last time so i'm now on workman's comp because i can't use it to much and they will have to pay for my surgery and rehab which is good because i'm not there to long and my insurance didn't kick in yet.
Anyway good to see that your making progress on your car bet you can't wait to take it out for that long awaited first drive.

At least your covered while they get you back in shape. I hope everything goes well. Thanks on the car!
