Hi all

As you know, original Chrysler console for A-body with three speed on the floor has never been available.
So, I had to find something to remedy that

I was looking for a short console, compatible with the offset gear lever. Not easy.
Finally I found a guy who sold this kind of console. Unknown origin, Ford for sure but undetermined model. Escort maybe?

It wasn't very clean and desirable... but cheap (10 euros) :)

When i received it, I tested the fitment and yes... the overall size and the offset were compatible with my gear lever.
I just had to remove the rubber boot, but I kept the frame.
A good cleaning, two layers of satin black paint and a little sheet of self-adhesive false wood

In the car, with my Bose bluetooth speaker :

Not yet permanently installed, it will be fixed with self-adhesive Velcro on the carpet.
I also have to install the Bose USB charging dock into the console
In the end, it will look like this :

Thank you Sirs, but it wasn't a big challenge.

I will probably install the Bose speaker on top to keep the functionality of the storage (which is sorely lacking in my Demon)

Teasing me, Troy...?
My previous US car was a '69 Mustang :)

Good coincidence you answer to my thread, today I completed the installation
Bose USB charger dock installed and powered by the cigar lighter, just like the phone.
Wires are routed behing the ashtray.
"YOSH" is the magnetic phone holder (a suction cup under the dash)

Of course teasing you! You do nice work, there's no doubt about that.

Thank you, but this console is not the seventh wonder of the world.
At least, now I got some handy storage for my keys, my wallet... and a stable location for my wireless speaker :p

I'm interested in knowing did your demon come from the factory with that 69 Valiant Speedo cluster in your country or did you add that ...Anyways there is a 1971 Speedo cluster on eBay in kilometers for sale

No, it didn't come from the factory with this cluster. I added it because I do not like the Demon cluster.
The 67-69 Valiant cluster with its rectangular gauges, is a lot nicer and plug 'n play.

'71 Demon cluster retrofitting

My Demon came from factory with the 200km/h cluster.

I agree with you I also like the Valiant cluster..the 1970 one doesn't have flasher switch on face...1 year only....but yeah the square gauges look better

That turned out really nice!
