Custom gun, target, shooters in general you NEED to see this

You know, I did a quick search for the 500 Automax and it happened to be another Kentucky Ballistics video.
I may help the guy out (for those who didn't watch til the end) and buy one of his "Just Put A Thumb In It" T-shirts $25 and/or a sticker for $3
Put a thumb in it T-shirt

The safest bet for safety in a firearm is to always buy guns designed by John Moses Browning. I owned one of the first Barret's back in the eighties. 90% BMG parts.
That is another reason that the military liked it. Barrel, firing pins etc... already in Armory inventories. The Muzzle brake and recoiling barrel are what makes it work.

There's some big bore rifles out there which can match its performance without all the drama.
I don't disagree, but I'm curious which ones you think are "the best"? At one time I was looking at .458 SOCOM, which led a local gun shop to direct me to an AR-10 trimmed out in .308/7.62 caliber hardware. That led to 300BLK, and then firing that in subsonic rounds with a pinned suppressor on an AR-15.
So that's what I wound up getting. It's great to 100 yards, and is incredibly quiet, but I could use a high velocity large caliber rifle to round out that arena.

Could you imagine being his father and watching it happen. God and their training kept him alive. Train, train, train. It paid off.
Funny you mention that
I watched that video with my wife and j said the same thing...I'd much rather be the trigger guy then his dad

"Best" is a matter of opinion and application.

50 will reach out, but it's not known for max accuracy. It's good for defeating armor and cover though.

For accurate long range shooting, 338lapua mag is where it's at. There's a few other cartridges in that neighborhood as well which also do well (like 416 barret or 375 cheytac). Ultimately the choice goes back to application and ammo availability/cost.

That would be the intent of my 50 cal. 500 Automax rifle that I'd like to get.
9+1 round capacity (or std mag 5+1) and it is powerful enough to take down ANY predator or game animal. For example, within 100 yards, my self-imposed and IMO practical limit w/out excessive drop, for my subsonic rounds (1,050 ft/sec) firing, 300 Blackout caliber, suppressed AR-15, I wouldn't "fear" a wild pig, but if I had a Automax 500 and firing suppressed wasn't a priority, I'd use the 500. I believe the added heft of the .308/7.62 x 51mm size projectile of my 300BLK rounds bring enough impact force transfer and depending on what ammo I use can create a heck of a wound channel, I have high confidence that one reasonably well placed shot would be lethal, and in the slim chance a wounded wild pig charged me, I can follow up with quite a few more, 29 or so with a full mag. I'd also have my 5.7 as a sidearm if I was hunting, and that's up to 21 shots of 5.7 x 28mm @ 2,350 ft/sec. Not a large projectile, but very fast, and very easy to do follow up shots accurately because of its ultra low recoil, and while it's a small projectile, that particular round has high penetration characteristics.
OTOH, one shot just about anywhere on a wild pig with the 500 Automax is likely to remove a substantial chunk of whatever it hit....
