So I'm just about to assemble a set of 516 heads that I thoroughly cleaned and lapped the valves on. These will be put away for awhile, so what kind of lube should I assemble with to prevent rust/corrosion on the seats, guides, machined surfaces?

For iron heads. What I do is a simple light coat of WD-40, I use a plastic bag for wrapping, store inside the house. This also works well for cams.

wipe the chambers and gasket face down with a .99 jar of petroleum jelly. Poor mans Comsoline. Sticks and wont run off or evaporate/disappear after a month.
