Pulled dash out of my 69 Barracuda and noticed a couple of the pins pulled out of the circuit board with the plug. Can these be repaired? None of the pins appear to be for the gauges only lights if I'm tracing the board correctly.

I got a replacement instrument cluster for my 1973 Duster. The seller told me a couple of the power plug pins were broken and cracked loose. I got it anyway. Upon looking at it, and taking it all apart and cleaning everything, I was able to use a cheap soldering iron, solder, and flux to resolder the pins into their proper position. It actually went better than I thought it would with a cheap little soldering iron. I used to do electronics tech work and soldering many years ago, and with a good professional grade iron and the proper tip, you can do a lot. I just used what I had and it was ok.

If you have any soldering experience, try to fix it, just use lots of flux and clean it all with isopropyl alcohol afterwards.

I noticed this post is a year old, and on a quick search I didn’t see the post detailing the repair, but I recently did mine. I had 3 pins totally off and the rest were 58years loose. I took a piece of old ground wire(stranded) and removed one strand to put in the hole of the pin , loop on the bottom so it doesn't slide out, it’s handy to keep them located. Anyway, I put a dab on the bottom of the board, top of the board at the base of pin and filled each with solder

Make certain you clean them well and use electronics compatible LEADED solder, not lead free. Make certain it is NOZTZ acid flux. Get yourself some rosin flux. Either find some wire to go up inside the pin to strengthen it, or one person on here used small machine screws. Not sure what size.

Also while you are at it use an abrasive eraser to clean the pads around the lamp bulbs. Loosen/ tighten the gauge stud nuts two / three times to scrub them. Inspect the contact fingers for the gauge limiter, and maybe just go ahead and clean, flux and solder jumpers across from the contact fingers to the board traces. Somewhere on this board are some photos.
