My dash lights are very dim even when switch is at max. How do I get to the bulbs after removing screws? How do the wiper and headlight switch knobs remove? Standard Dash, 1974 Duster.

Headlight switches (push pull) have been the same since before I was born (68). You unhook the battery. UNHOOK THE.........BATTERY!!!

Reach up under and feel for the "button." Pull the switch full "on" push the button and gently pull, and the knob and shaft should come right out.

Wiper knobs vary over the years? Mine (67) have tiny allen screws

So far as "getting to the bulbs" you mean the cluster trim screws? I would pull the cluster. With BATTERY DISCONNECTED, drop the column. There are at least two nuts and at least one bolt. Drop the column down some and the cluster should "tip out" with some gentle work

Don't forget your speedometer cable needs to be removed from the back also.
I do it from under the dash first thing, but I know right where it is. :D

A few of us use LED's for the lights and they can be nice and bright.
Some of us even use strip LED's for the panel backlighting.

I'm sure the procedure is mentioned in the factory service manual. But here's the short version. Disconnect battery, remove anything that's in the way to get to get to the problem, fix problem, then reassemble. Lol.
