The dent below is giving me some problems. I need tips on how to get this out. I was thinking a stud puller maybe some heat but I do not want to make it worse. I am trying to do all the work myself. The dent starts at the body line and waves through the panel. I am hoping I do not need a new panel. Thank you for any suggestions.

You do not need a new panel. Looks like that is the 1/4 and you have backside access.

Most of that should come out through the careful use of a hammer, dolly, body file and a bit of shrinking (by guess is that it's stretched.)

But you need to know what you are doing.

This guy on Youtube has some videos can help point you in the right direction.

I was thinking that probably I would be going by youtube. I have been wanting to start learning autobody. I guess this is the time. lol. I have a friend who might be able to lend a hand. We will see. Thanks.

This will do everything you need.

Work the big areas out in a circular motion, light firm taps, dolly on the opposite side, in a hypnotic circle, then take care of the small dents.

Don't try to get perfect; if you do and work the panel too much, it will harden then your really up the creek.

Filler is fine to use, 1/16" is more than close enough over a large area. 1/8" in a small stubborn area is OK, but no big areas.

Remember, perfect is the enemy of the good.

Have fun making the neighbors happy!

Our car had a similar dent, but it was on the area of the front fender just behid the tire. Drove my friend/body guy nuts. Took him and the fellow that educated him over a day to get it fixed. They would get the effected area level only to have a wave appear next to the affected area. Be patient, hammer/dolly & heat will be your friend here......

Very good video. I think he said it all when he said, "Just practice. You've got to be really patient."

that is an easy fix if its in the middle of a duster or dart fender..if you get behind it and push it out with your hand then take a dolly hammer and tap down on the top edge of the fender. then if it is off get a wide blunt tipped chisel I have a 3inch wide masons chisel that I have ground rounded and put that in the cres of the fender on the back side and tap it till its strate and that should take the flimsiness out. those fenders are flimsy from the factory so what I do after strating them (and im sure I will here **** about this) Is take a pece of 1/4 or 3/16 round rod and epoxy it to the back side rite in that cress of the fender..........hope this helps it always worked for me........Artie.

3 style lines affected. Stretched. Rear 1/3rd of the quarter wobbled in with it.

Just saying....

But yes, backside access will sure help.
