Did'nt know Chryco made parts for Chevys, A.M.C.s

I have a gas cap with a Mopar part number that didn't match anything. Flipped the box and now I know why. I wonder if manufacturing parts for other makes was a common practice in the 1950s early 60s

A/C Delco makes parts for Mopars. Kim

Chevy even used a version of the A833 in trucks.
