So when i was up as Summit the other day, they had a complete rear disc brake setup for '63-64 mopar 8.75 with 2 piece rear axles on clearance for $100. So i snatched it up figuring it wouldnt be too difficult to make them work on later rears. I got the kit home and read over the destructions and it gives directions for both 1 pc and 2 pc rear axles, but the hardware is slightly different between the two, and the descripton is rather vauge.
My question is what would be the biggest difference between the two, and how could i make this kit work on a later model axle?

Until 1965 Mopar 8 3/4" rears used axles that were splined on the outboard end. The drums contained a splined hub that was held to the axle with a large nut that was torqued to OMG specs. The splines tended to strip out when confronted with good traction and lots of horsepower, thus the switch to one piece axles. To use your kit you will need to find a pair of early axles and have them cut and resplined to fit an A body and possibly find a set of drums to machine the hub out of.
