There was nothing necessary about Sid Vicious. Although that was my pen name in advanced lit in my junior year. I used to drive my lit teacher to drink. Quite literally. We found her bottle in her desk one morning before she got to class and she spent the rest of the day looking for it. She thought she had misplaced it. She ultimately had to go home that day. It was hilarious back then, but I kinda feel bad about it now. We were terrible.
I used to really like those guys

I remember one day I decided I wanted to get a sex pistols shirt
(This was before the interwebs shopping)

Look at all my local music stores and couldn't find one

Finally I said screw it, I'm going to England
And I did

Boy what an adventure that was, I was 16 I believe

Spend all evening out drinking and was able to take the last train back to the hotel (for all you English folks, it was the Jubilee line) I kinda sorta dozed, waiting on my stop but it never came

Finally a conductor showed up and told me I had to get off, this is the end of the line
So I explained, I can't get off here, my stop hasn't come by

He said whats your stop, so I told him

Then he said, where did you get on, and I told him that

He said, yeah, you got on going in the wrong direction

So I had no choice but to start booting it
I walked all nite (with one or two stops for a drink) through London and I made it back to the hotel just in time for breakfast

I think the next night I went out again and got my tattoo, that was fun, I couldn't tell you who was more waisted, me or the guy holding the pen

And all because of this awesome rendition of my way

Great stories!

This guy was a morning DJ at 92 CITI FM in Winnipeg back in the late 70's and 80's. I met him a couple times at the dragstrip, he used to race motorcycles, he also had a band and played some gigs around town. The radio station put on some Disco Demolition events and concerts as well. In those days I actually looked forward to getting up in the morning.

Would that be Jake Edwards?

All the the good looking girls were into the John Travolta look back in HS in the mid to late 70's, then came along Van Halen and disco was dead .

Well men, never cared much for Kiss back in the day, I was a Bad Company, Pink Floyd, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Kansas, Rush, Boston etc.. many others, Disco music came in when I made a big change in my life to leave mom, grandma and two brothers to meet my father at 16..
Back before then I skating when I could, music and girls at one place worked for me

And let me say, I never disliked Disco music, some I didn't care for, but i could tell y'all stories about my life in the mid to late 70es that would make some of you laugh your *** off I am sure.
I would say Lynel Ritchie was near the top of my favorite musicians, he was raised by his grandmother like me, but I did have my mother thank God, yep, Back in the Day John Travolta didn't have nothing on me .

Like or hate it Disco was a huge influence on music at the time. Me and the boys were hardcore rockers we would not accept nothing but led Zeppelin /BTO AC/DC / Van Halen /bad company etc but if you were smart you had a couple good disco tapes so when you were entertaining the ladies Ohio players Bee gees wild cherry ring a bell? Truth be told some of it was pretty darn good music.
Well said Frog
To add, I give you and everyone here my word that Ring My bell was mine and a dance partner I met a few weeks earlier at the Mad Haters in Memphis, Sieree and I walked away with a second place prize and trophy at 2 am in the morning, I gave her (a very beautiful Black girl) the trophy, we split 275.00 in cash, thanks for listing the song Frog  made my morning as I wastch nascar qualifying
