Pulled the Mopar electronic distributor out to rebuild, as I thought the weights were frozen up. What I found was that the distributor advance springs were missing. Have order some springs form Mr. Gasket, but from what I understand these springs let the weights out at around 1200 rpm. Is this right?
Have also read that I need to leave one of the springs. that was on the distributor originally, hooked up and use only one of the springs from Mr. Gasket. This will allow the advance curve to climb over a longer rpm range. Is this correct?
Since the original springs are missing are there any other ones that I can use? Or does anyone know where I can get some? Distributor is a Mopar electronic, and I guess came out of a 1970"s small block. My Dart is a 1965 with a Charger 273 in it.

Most auto parts stores carry them you can mix and play with diffrent springs till you get it where you want. 1200 is early for a street car 2000-2500 will work better with less of a chance of detonation.
