i bought a new windsheild seal for my valiant awhile ago. i asked the supplier whether it came with a lockstrip, and he said he didnt think i needed one for the new seal. has anyone ever heard of seals without lockstrips, or am i gonna need to order one?? im putting this in hopefully in a few days so i need to know asap.

thanks for the help, jason

When I bought my 67, it didn't have a lockstrip, and I don't have any idea how long the previous owner drove it that way. I put one in, but I think it was purely cosmetic.

There are 2 designs of gasket one is self locking and the other requires a lock cord. The chrome looking lock cord is one of 2 also. There is a black rubber lock cord for the gaskets the require that.
