Do they make a fuel tank without the spare tire cut out?

Hey guys, When I bought my 75 duster the guy had put in new floors and just put sheet metal in the trunk. He cut out where the spare tire would go, so now my trunk floor is flat. Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,

You should still be able to install a standard tank with the proper strap anchors.

You could look at D100 or A100 tanks but the filler probably will not be where you need it.

I shortened a 68-70 Charger tank on my 67 barracuda and used stock filler location. Just start perusing different tanks. Find out what measurements you wish to fall between and filler location.

Ill try to find my pictures of splicing and dicing I did on the charger tank. I bought it new and cut n welded. Then off to the radiator shop for final inspection.

I’m sure a company like Tanks inc. In Iowa I believe could easily build you that tank.

Mustangs have a flat floor.
Isn't the top of the gas tank THE trunk floor in the early Mustang? That's how it was in a friend's 65 years ago. It was factory, too.

1990 Cherokee- tank has similar dimensions, filler is in a workable location, and the fuel pump/sender has similar ohm readings- but backwards! When full your gauge will read "E", when empty it will read "F". Oh well- a little white paint turns your gauge's F into an E, and vice-versa. Or cheat and use a MeterMatch.
Go on RockAuto's site and pull up the listings, look at the pictures and make note of the measurements; see if it can work for you.

I had an aluminum 25 gallon tank made to go in my Duster with a flat trunk floor with no spare tire hole. I was all gung ho to put in a 5.7 Hemi with factory fuel injection, but changed my mind. Never used it and now it's just sitting in the basement since I won't use it with a carbed 340.
