I let the 1968 440 engine warm up a few minutes to get the oil flowing.
Most of the year should be long enough.If you live where your exterior steel is sitting at 100deg daily, that's one thing. I let mine warm up most of the year!

Neither are cold starts.Idling the engine is the slowest way to warm it up. Its not good for it.
Mine like at least 140 deg. before they are happy enough to move
