Do you wave?

-
If somebody lets me out into a line of traffic or lets me over when I have my blinker on needing to change lanes....I always give a wave to acknowledge their kindness. I give everybody the hairy eyeball when I'm a pedestrian but do give them a wave if they stop to let me cross in front of them. A cop rolled down the window and hollered at me once when I was a kid. He yelled "BOY, you're Jaywalkin!" I hollered back and said "No I ain't....I'm just walkin like I always do!"

They are all the same thing. Whatever you want to do. After moving back down south, people will let you go whether you were first at a stop light or not. Very humorous to watch it go on for a while... I always let a vehicle go first whether I have the right of way or not, unless they insist.

Just a technical note- nearly all traffic laws state who must yield, hardly ever is the term "right of way" used.

Yes I do. Courtesy is a trait that seems to be dying and I want to let those that still have it know some of us still appreciate it. I live in a small ranching community and do morning walks and wave at most everyone on the road as they pass. It use to be I knew all the old ranchers and residents.... too many of them have passed on and now it is getting so I am waving at strangers...

:(

maybe I am that old man that waves at everyone that we had in the town I grew up in that we though was a bit odd now..... oh no.....

I was raised and always lived in the country (sticks to some), SW Ga, all of rural Mo., S E Tx. I have always waved, usually just holding up one finger,(no, not the "single finger salute"). Some rural areas are bigger on waving that others. I find the further in the sticks and further South, the more you see the wave! Texas is more West than South!
Yes I wave at the guy that did not run me over at WalMart! Kindness should be addressed!
(But I am an old and kind soul!!!)  :BangHead: :steering: :confederateflag:

I too, acknowledge people's kindness. Here where I live most will wave passing by in their cars. Kindness goes a long way, I believe that a smile and or a wave can change a person's day. You all have a great day.
