Hey All,
My son came by today to hang out on Fathers Day, to play some horseshoes and bbq. He cruised over in his new 2018 Scat Pack. After we played shoes and ate lunch, we all went out to take a closer look at it.
My buddy Floyd and I were sitting in it, and like the good boy I raised, he tossed me the keys. :)
We took it for about a 3 mile drive, getting on it several times. When we got back, we had goose bumps with ear to ear grins. All I can say is WoW, and I want one. Dodge made a Very Impressive car ! I in the short time I was in this car, I couldn't be any more impressed. The acceleration is exhilarating. I couldnt even imagine the Hellcat, or Demon for that matter. Congrats Dodge, you built a Bad Boy !!!!!

I love my 2006 Charger SRT, it’s a total beast. It goes well with the vintage Mopars in my stable and does them proud. Modern muscle must be driven to be appreciated, too many old schools guys just dismiss it without ever getting behind the wheel of one...and they have no idea what they are missing.

I bet that Scat Pack was a blast to drive. I drove a Hellcat for several days on a track and wish I was still there.

I have a 2010 Plum Crazy Challenger RT Classic 6 spd and I smile every time I drive it. Not stupid fast but fast enough to get your attention and I agree that these modern "muscle" cars are one of the reasons why people move away from restoring old cars and/or doing a restomod with modern drive trains. It seems a bit unreal that you can go to a lot and buy a 400, 600, etc HP car with a warranty and if maintained even minimally will run several hundred thousand miles. I have thought several times about selling off my classic muscle cars and buying another new Challenger, but every time I look at them the thought evaporates.

Yes, they sure are fast. I'd have a Hellcat, or nothing at all. But you just cant beat the sound of a huge solid roller cam in a traditional V-8!

Well the Hellcat wasn't out when I was shopping but the SRT was, problem was/is that I already had an 01 Viper in the shop so I wanted something more "daily driver". At the time, a SRT was 10K more than an RT and since I already had a 70 RT Challenger, I thought the 40 yo brother was a better fit. All that said, if I fell into some $$, I would seriously look for another new Challenger, probably a SRT or perhaps a used Hellcat if the price was right.

Thanks all for the replies.
So when I got back, he asks me if I put it in sport mode ? I said what ?
Turns out I was de-tunned a bit............Dam it !!!!!! :)

If you look around, you can rent them from Budget ;-)

I sure wouldn't BUY one from Budget.

Needs an RT stripe

There's a new TorRed Challenger T/A at our local dealer that I've been drooling over, but as long as I maintain a fleet of old cars, it's not going to happen.

I want one too but short of a lottery win and with the wife's renovation obsession....
not gonna happen. Unless someone offers me triple what my Duster is worth.

I also had a 06 SRT charger, put a cat back 3" with delta flow 2 chambers, and cold air intake and a tune, it was a fun and fast car and loved it, surprised I didn't get any speeding tickets in it, it would hit 130mph + pretty quick in the open road. But to much electronics, that's why I came back to classics, plus with my job at the time allowed me to buy a my current ram truck since they didn't want anything over 6 years old as a driver for us.

My 2014 ram has me spoiled , sure feels good after driving the 505" fastback.

Same year as me 2014 ram 6.7L cummins 3500 dually. It is a great ride, I'm so use to the big mirrors on my truck when I get it done and drive the dart the mirrors are so small lol.

agree w/ that, I sure miss the pass side mirror too.

I added one to my dart, don't like not having one on both sides now lol. If it wouldn't be to awkward looking I'd love to have my mirrors from my ram for the dart lol I wouldn't

I’m debating about replacing the standard glass in my sport mirrors with “objects in mirror are closer than they appear” glass so I can see more in that small space.

That’s a GORGEOUS car!!! My wife and I badly want to get a plum crazy Scat pack or SRT but we can’t pull it off financially

Not to side track this thread I do apologize, I went aftermarket for my side mirrors not everyone cup of tea but at least I can place them where I wanted them and not in the factory spot.
