Dodge Lancer owners

The thing about these models is they never sold that many when new and 99.9% have been crushed. The ones that weren't crushed sat outside for 60odd years and have rotted into the ground. Most people consider them "homely". (I like them) Is what it is.

@barbee6043 I am still trying to get my brother to buy your car that he learned to drive on. It looks like the one my parents had before the GT. 170 column shifter 3 speed. The shifter mechanism wore out and we installed a Hurst!

I just picked up this '61 Lancer 2 weeks ago. My winter project. It runs and seems to have good bones.
Looking forward to enjoying this site!

Don't know if you guys saw this, but Hagerty youtube has a cool 62 Lancer wagon project they just started on last week.

Does anyone know if the 61-62 Lancers were sold new in Canada? I can't recall ever seeing them here.

I pick up a '61 4 door lancer. Been fixing her up for the last 4 months and liking this unique car.

So I'm just cleaning her up and starting to look pretty good. also replaced the 13" wheels with 14" rims, tires and '65 dodge spinner hub caps.
I'll post some new pics after the holidays.

How many US members within our Forum with
61 & 62 models !!
I have a 1961 Lancer 770, 4door..
Drive it a lot. I bought it about 6 months ago. Runs great. Had a complete brake job done.

I'm retired and the car is my hobby. A pic is my avatar. It is now repainted and will post some pics next week.
170 slant, and love tinkering with this car.

I was originally looking for a '61 or '62 2 dr. hardtop. I found a couple nicely restored, but too much $ for a hobby car.

This one came up locally for really good price. Turns out the PO spent some time and money on it. Came with rebuilt auto tranny, electronic ignition, new carpets and headliner. New 13" tires on original rims, since replaced with 14" rims, tires, and '65 Coronet spinner caps. Looks pretty sharp.

Some projects for the Spring will be to replace the rear bumper, adjust and lube the widow hard wear, finish and detail the paint job, repair the speedi, and fiddle around. I can't wait for the weather to turn!

It's my hope that some of you guys will post abut your Mopars. As you know the '61/'62 Valiants and Lancers are a disappearing breed.
