Let the boy go !
My old neighbor's son has a 2019 Dodge Ram 4 door Longhorn Pick up with only 9 thousand miles on it. I put a new battery in it as it was original and would not come back from a long trickle charge. He has auto start so I told him he should at least start it once a week to keep the new battery up. Fast forward 5 months and he calls me and say the truck won't start. He still wasn't starting weekly but had driven it a couple of times. Battery is fine, when you hit the start button it say no fob detected. He has 2 fobs. I changed one fob battery same thing. I also reprogramed the Fob. I've read there's a water leak issues with rear glass and shorts out the RF Hub which is mounted directly under. Truck does have a musty smell. I told him I googled it and couldn't help as the rear seat and rear panels need removing and part changed and reprogrammed plus being snow in. He fell down the rabbit hole of reading about other things related that could still be needed and called me to ask who pays the most for junk cars. He said he thinks it's going to cost too much and wants to bail. I told him he's nuts and if he wants to junk it I will buy it. Still waiting on how much. These issues have screwed people with this issue and E brake won't release making even flat bedding a chore dragging on and off.
OK, sorry for all that. My question now. Has anybody experienced this with their Ram? I've joined a Ram forum and am not finding out too much yet on solutions. I could buy the RF Hub and install but would need to find someone to reprogram at a reasonable cost
I figure if I can't fix it myself I could part it out and still keep a low mileage Hemi for ?
