My old neighbor's son has a 2019 Dodge Ram 4 door Longhorn Pick up with only 9 thousand miles on it. I put a new battery in it as it was original and would not come back from a long trickle charge. He has auto start so I told him he should at least start it once a week to keep the new battery up. Fast forward 5 months and he calls me and say the truck won't start. He still wasn't starting weekly but had driven it a couple of times. Battery is fine, when you hit the start button it say no fob detected. He has 2 fobs. I changed one fob battery same thing. I also reprogramed the Fob. I've read there's a water leak issues with rear glass and shorts out the RF Hub which is mounted directly under. Truck does have a musty smell. I told him I googled it and couldn't help as the rear seat and rear panels need removing and part changed and reprogrammed plus being snow in. He fell down the rabbit hole of reading about other things related that could still be needed and called me to ask who pays the most for junk cars. He said he thinks it's going to cost too much and wants to bail. I told him he's nuts and if he wants to junk it I will buy it. Still waiting on how much. These issues have screwed people with this issue and E brake won't release making even flat bedding a chore dragging on and off.
OK, sorry for all that. My question now. Has anybody experienced this with their Ram? I've joined a Ram forum and am not finding out too much yet on solutions. I could buy the RF Hub and install but would need to find someone to reprogram at a reasonable cost
I figure if I can't fix it myself I could part it out and still keep a low mileage Hemi for ?

I found this online on Ramforum.com

".....OK i had this exact same problem, its an easy Fix. Disconnect your battery completely. After its disconnect, take the two Leads, positive and Negative and touch those two cables together. Be sure they are not hooked to battery! What this does is reset your computer in your truck. Then it will recognize the key fob. This happened to me when i got my truck detailed a few weeks ago and the kids cleaning it, had the music going, head lights on and wipers on with the truck shut off. They ran my battery completely down. Thats when i had this problem trying to get it started back. Took me almost 3 hours to figure it out. When i finally did figure it out, it was one of those, (cant hurt nothing now) moments. And it actually works..."

What you can try, and it did work on my 16 Ram. Take your keyfob and push the start button with the key fob. Not sure what it does but it works with mine when it doesn't recognize the fob.( I got this information from the Service Manager at the local Ram Dealer) Also if you are in a area where there is automatic doors in any business you go to. Our truck would not recognize the fob. No unlock button would work. Had to open the door with the key and then the alarm was going off and couldn't shut it off. Put the fob against the start button with alarm going off and it fired right up and was normal. Every time we go to that area of business the truck does the same thing. May not work for you but that was our experience

When I worked at the Dodge dealership, this was a real common fix.
I was amazed at how many times this was done.

Yes, they get screwed up from outside RF. They changed the frequency in the newer models, but it still happens.
I was able to start it with the fob pressing the start button after work yesterday. Everything normal when fob stays near truck. Once a few feet away you have to start with fob again. I told him to use it this way until he gets it diagnosed at the dealer. It may be bad RF Hub from rear window leak or hopefully just fob reprograming.
Pretty common problem and I believe there was a lawsuit on those issues.
Here is the TSB

Thanks for that.
Thanks for the responses. As much as I would love to get my hands on the truck, I would much rather help him out in his desperation.
