does a904 trans from 318 bolt up to slant six

Have a slant six .Bad trans found locally a good trans 904 from a 318 can I swap these two or what will be necessary and if j get the trans for $100 is it worth the effort

No, the starter mounts in a different location from slant to v-8, so bellhousings are different for the 904's for each engine.


Find a slant 6 trans for the vintage that you need.

Can you change the bell housing from one to the other

No the bell housing and trans case are cast as one part. The bell housing can not be unbolted.
