I used to powder coat custom made lamps for a friend. He used 1/2” or 3/4” pipe (and connectors) like you could find at Lowe’s or Home Depot and made lamps using miscellaneous materials for bases. The blue and red Kansas University colors lamp in pictures 4 and 5 use a lawn mower engine flywheel for a base. He sold a LOT of them at craft shows. He died about a year ago. I have enough materials of his to make about five or six lamps. I need to drill through some glass that is about 1/2 inch thick at the top with the drill bit shown in the pictures. Unfortunately, he is no longer around for me to ask how he did it. I will use a drill press. I was wondering if I needed any lubrication. I plan to go slow. He left enough materials in his workshop to make about 20 or 30 lamps. I might buy all of it from his wife and play with making some more lamps. If I can figure out how to draw these holes, I might make 20 or 30 of these lamps. Any possible color combination for any school, team, or whatever is possible. I realize I need to be careful on copywrites. I will NOT be selling a KU Jayhawks lamp. I will be selling a blue and red lamp.
