Does anyone know if this is a manual or power steering column?

My '71 Demon was missing the steering column when I bought it, so the seller threw one in that he had laying around the yard. Does anyone know if this would work for a power steering slant 6 car? I've heard that power and manual steering columns are different.

The steering shafts are different lengths between manual and power. The couplers are different as well, but it’s hard to tell from what you show in your pictures. The columns are pretty much the same otherwise

For the A-body (since we're talking about an A body)

the manual steering shaft is ~40.6", power steering shaft is ~37.5". That's end to end on the steering shaft, no coupler.

the converter from power column to manual is available but is really quite expensive

you'd pick up the correct internal steering shaft for less

If you find out it is manual I have a power steering shaft I'm not using. I'd swap you for it.
