Looking to run electric fans on my Dart and was wondering what donor cars I should look for in the salvage yard. Best fit, highest cfm, etc.

Just a thought, Heard about Ford Escorts to use. Went to pick a part and did some measurements, has a nice shroud and fan is offset slightly to the driverside for waterpump clearance. Looks like a good fit for a 22'' rad.Never went any further as I sold the car before doing a swap.Again just a thought.

Both my early A's have Mercedes pusher fans. One I got at the JY, the other was on the Valiant when I bought it, so somebody had the same idea. I hear it is one of the best. Both from 80's or 90's 4-dr sedans. Many rodders like a 2-spd Ford fan I recall, maybe check HAMB website.

Re control, I found an adjustable controller w/ screw-in sensor for only $28 on rockauto & bought 2. Most people use a standard 40 A auto relay. My 02 Mopar fans use a solid-state relay on the front bumper.

found one at work i want to say its for an 05-08 ish jeep liberty, with some minor mods it would fit a 22 inch rad like a glove, its a fan/shroud combo unit. pretty slick. also heard that ferd tore-*** and turd-gen camaros work really well, but obviously those are for a wider rad.

best one i found i researched this like crazy btw for the 350 i built for my father inlaw get one off a 96 ford thunder bird or Lincoln town car they have high and low speeds i hooked up to two different toggles pretty cheap and highly recommended by lots of people i asked works awesome keeps the car super cool tested it with fan off tell it got hot then turned on low and watched it drop fast even faster with high even low keeps it cool at idle in traffic and its around 435hp

also should note its on a 2 core aluminum 22" rad with 1" cores and fit perfect has to be the v8 model van though

Ford Taurus 3.8L two speed. Early 90s.(They also came on Lincolns) Search the net for info. They'll keep about anything cool and the wrecking yards are full of 'em. The only real drawback is they pull some serious startup amps.

Ford Contour V6,twin fan setup. 2 fan setup, shrouded.Dorman new was cheaper than the aftermarket setup.

My car is of course set up for a 22" radiator but I thought about the 26" and just drilling holes to bolt it in. I found a site last night on the mercedes Benz fan and the Lincoln mark viii fan (also on Thunderbirds) that are supposed to work great. Thanks for all the suggestions. Will check the 2 local junkyards

Go to a car show in our area and almost everybody is using these and they all mention the high draw you have to deal with but done right they're hard to beat. These guys are setting up their heat-generating hot rods to cruise in 110 summer heat.

Does the ford fan need any mods? I only have 3 inches from the front of the waterpump pulley to the radiator core and don't see how it will fit.

I installed some fans (dual) from a Nissan Altima in a buddy's ferd mustang. seems to work pretty good. They are two speed fans. ...they were what the JY had at the time..

I found a real nice one for my Datsun in a V6 Toyota mini-van. Big motor, small radiator, nice ABS shroud on it, Basically just took my measuring tape with me and looked around for the fan motor with the highest amperage rating and a shroud that more or less covered the core.
