What car? I have a 1968 FSM that includes several models made that year. Come to think of it I also have a 70 service manual for B-bodies. Let me know the model and I'll look and if it's in one of them I'll scan and post it

If the car is a no post coupe. The very first thing to do is renew the door hinges. If you align the quarter glass ( painful process ) to a sagging doorthen renew the door hinges later, you'll need to align that quarter glass again. Been there done that.
The "how to" comes from service manuals. The "what you should know" at 40 years later comes from these forums. Good luck with it.
