Hi Everyone,

I've inherited a '64 Plymouth Barracuda and come to realise whomever did the last respray in the early 2000's didn't put everything back correctly. The result is the door locks aren't connected to the locking mechanism!

I'm planning on replacing the door locks & ignition so that the keys match (the ignition was changed at some point in the car's history) and the old door locks aren't in any great condition. Does anyone know if the following set would work/fit on the '64 as the spec says 66-68. https://www.yearone.com/Product/chrysler-a-body/ids7

I also need new door lock link rods, these were removed and never put back from what I can gather, I can't find a spec for these and was wondering if anyone know whether the ones for the 67-68 models might fit the 64 model? Door Lock Link Rods - Pair

I did have a search of the forum and couldn't find answers specific to the 64 'Cuda so hopefully not wasting anyone's time by asking.

Appreciate any advice or suggestions.

Cheers,

Nope, and nope. Door locks are '65 and earlier. The rods for the interior lock knobs to latch are '64-6 all models.....even 4 DRs.

Gotcha, thanks for the answer, I’ll keep searching.

A little confused on the send part, perhaps that’s in the words I chose to use and not being clear in what the issue is.

I’m looking for the link rod from the door lock to the locking mechanism. The interior lock rod is present so I can lock / unlock from inside the car but not using the key.

Any ideas on what to look for in those?

Those are '64-5 all models I believe. The lock cylinders change in '66 and may have a slightly different angle on those link rods. '63 is a completely different latch, so, those probably won't work either. Haven't tried that interchange, so, can't say for sure.
