Hey guys

about to pull the trigger on a disc kit from dr diff. Just hesitant because it doesnt say that it fits 65 A bodies.

If i order the Large lower ball joints and upper tapered adaptors, this kit will work wont it?

can anyone confirm? Thanks

Why aren’t you asking doctor diff? Send him an email. He’ll answer.

Btw, I have a power 4 wheel disc brake conversion kit for this application in Big Bolt Pattern, which includes new upper control arms with larger ball joints, lower ball joints, and everything you need located in alberta all new in the box from "the right stuff”which may be a lot cheaper and less hassle when it comes to shipping, duty, brokerage, exchange rate, and potential tariffs incase you may be interested. All for a good price Send a pm if interested and for details or if you have any questions about the kit. I’ve done quite a few of these conversions

However, I believe the answer to your initial question is yes.

there is a possibility that unless the kit comes with spindles the 65 spindles might not be compatible, like most kits are designed for 10" drum brake spindles and do not fit the 9" drum spindles or the KH Disk spindles for that matter

Agree. I was assuming you were ordering a kit with spindles.

Hi guys

This kit i was ordering im assuming the knuckles are the spindles as it comes with bearings.
i tried reaching out to dr diff, havent heard back yet.

just throwing me off as it says 67-76 a bodies???

Thanks.

"Mopar 10.95" front disc brake kit includes all new hardware. The package fits '62-'72 B-bodies, '67-'76 A-bodies and '70-'74 E-bodies. This is the largest OEM-style brake package that fits 14" disc brake spec wheels.

Included in kit:

  • Powder-coated calipers with brake pads
  • Reproduction 10.95" cast iron caliper brackets
  • Reproduction Forged Steel Knuckles
  • Plain, or drilled/slotted/plated 10.95" rotors
  • Rubber or DOT stainless flex hoses
  • Timken Set 17 (A17/BR17) inner bearings
  • Timken Set 2 (A2/BR2) outer bearings
  • Grease Caps
  • Splash Shields
  • Hardware
Sway bars affect installation:

  • Install calipers facing the front on all E-Bodies.
  • Install calipers facing the front on A-bodies equipped with '73 and newer sway bars (passes through the K member), or no sway bars.
  • Install calipers facing the front on B-bodies equipped with '70 and newer sway bars (passes through the K member), or no sway bars.
  • Install calipers facing the rear on '72 and older A-bodies equipped with sway bars (bolts under the K-member).
  • Install calipers facing the rear on '69 and older B-bodies equipped with sway bars (bolts under the K-member)."

It'll fit as long as you use the adapters or swap to the '73 and later upper control arm, and the '73 and up lower ball joints for disc brakes (if they're not already included in the kit).
If you have a front sway bar, you need to mount the spindles/calipers on the opposite side, ie, left spindle/caliper on the right, right on the left. This mounts the calipers to the rear to avoid caliper to sway bar interference.
You also need longer brake hoses to do this, which Dr. Diff also sells.
The kit is listed as fitting " '72 and earlier A bodies", so yes, that includes a '65.

You are getting the version of the kit that includes a new master cylinder and distribution /proportioning valve, right? Your current master will not have the volume for the discs, and is a considerable safety upgrade anyway to get rid of the '65's single pot master.

ok thanks

yes i actually already have the tapered adaptors, and will order the lower balljoints with the kit. I have already replaced to master cyl to a manual disc / drum and have a proportioning valve from a volare.

Thanks for the concurrence

Dr Diff web site says it fits '72 and older A Bodies so order the options you need you should be good to go.
