driveshaft diameter

I had a shaft shortened for my dart. A few inches on one end is a smaller O.D. Does it matter on which end the smaller O.D. is installed ?

On my 72 the small diameter is to the front and on my sons 71 it to the back.
Now that should confuse you! LOL!
My guess is is doesn't make a difference.
