Can anyone tell me how long a driveshaft is for a duster 318/904/8.25? I have 2 driveshafts here and not sure which to rebuild. Where are you measuring from too?

that's no help for 8.25... hang on

What year?

3467151 73 -76 Duster/Dart Sport 225,318,340,360 904/833 8 1/4 49.90 3 1/4 dia.

8 1/4 diff snout is approx 1 inch shorter than the 8 3/4

Measurement is from center to center of the U-joint..

hope it helps..

That helps a ton. It is a 73 duster. I measured from the end of the unjoint to end and it is almost 51". I remeasured center to center and it is almost 50", so I have the right one. Thanks for the info.

I'll post a pdf,, it has all mopar driveshaft lengths,

I'd hate a mistake if I made a typo..

hope it helps

Ok. They dont have any listed as a 318 with a 833. All they got is these \/\/\/ which of these would it be?

(Sorry to hijack, just figured it be better to just ask here than start a new nearly identical thread)

does not matter which engine is in the car...it is the transmission...rear end and wheel base that is going to determine the driveshaft length...

340 is same engine dimensions,, so I would go with that,, we're only talking 2 spark plug gaps difference (0.070) ... split the diff.. lol

Actually,, given the choice,, I'd go for the 3 1/4 inch tube over the 2 3/4.

cause there is no engine and trans in the car and someone on here wants the one I don't use, but thanks for that keen observation.

Did you not read the part where there is another member on here that needs the dart one? Or are you not about helping out your fellow member? Your response will prove my theory.

Then wait till you have them in the car rather than take a shot in the dark.

I agree with this^^^, as I am now in the same boat! Sold a member a part I thought I didn't need, and now end up needing it and have to find it myself!!

I would strongly recommend that people go back into this thread and printout (or save) the "driveshaft length" PDF listed in inertia's second post. This is a very useful chart that contains info people have asking about.

Thank you inertia.
