All that holds the crankshaft to the torque converter is a think little flex plate?

It just seems weird that you can have 300+hp and the only thing that keeps it attached is a thin piece of metal. Seems rather magical. Am I missing something here?

Since this is the first time I have had the tranny apart from the engine, I just have never noticed this before. I assumed the shaft from the tranny must slide through the torque converter into the crankshaft. I guess I was wrong all these years???

How much HP/Torque do they think you need to have to upgrade to a TCI flex plate? I just have a stock one from a 318.

Thanks.

It is amazing how strong grade 8 bolts are; 4 5/16" bolts hold? Get bigger, 4 7/16" bolts hold The Turbo- Action I just installed needed the 7/16",and That is not much bolt. Then look at what holds your rear u-joint in.
Then, when you pull your engine; 4 5/16" bolts in an alum manifold? Or 2 5/16" bolts on the heads?
Bolts are strong, unless they hold the rods on, lol.

If your amazed at that,go to a book store and pickup How to get big HP from a Mopar small block! Now that,s learning!LOL
