I have some extra windows and doors that came with a 74 Duster I bought and have been working on. The green doors on the car have for lack of a better description have the 4 mounting points and rollers. The hardware shown looks like it matches the window with 5 mounting points. I'm thinking that the 5 point primered door is actually for 74 cars? They came on the car unassembled, with 5 point windows and hardware pictured in the trunk.
The green doors with the 4 points came assembled with the car. I swapped them with the primered doors which some one started to repair on the bottom. The 4 point roller hardware is not in good shape on 1 window and the other side the rollers are completely missing. It looks like the 5 point windows and hardware which, other then a good cleaning is complete in good shape and looks like it will work on either door? I personally prefer the 5 point setup. Which is correct?
Thanks for the help.

Joe, I'm pretty sure early 73s had the 4-point mount glass & late build 73s & up had the 5-point mount glass. I have side glass complete assemblies from both year cars, early build 73 & 74 Dusters. I can check these for you to make sure. They are both out of the cars. The 74 was a parts car. You came & bought the hood from that one, & the 73 is the one I was working on & I know which goes to which car, but as long as you use the regulators from the same glass, I believe they will interchange between door shells.

Thanks Ken, I think I have it figured out. I'll check it out again later today to be sure. Either way I'm going to need some parts. For the 73 setup, 4 pieces. For the 74, 1 piece. Once I figure it out I think I'll post something in parts wanted.

IIRC the 5 hole glass is correct for a '73 and early '74 model. The 7 hole glass is the late '74-6 type. I can't remember the exact changeover date, but, I think it was in mid or late Sept. 1973.

I found a substitute at Auto Zone for one of my missing parts. OEM on the left, JOEM on the right. Not exact, but it works.

I got it figured out and working correctly. The green doors are 73, primered are 74. The 74 doors, have all the major parts, but a few harder to find pieces are missing. The past few days, I've been working on the green doors and with some elbow grease, was able to get them in good working order, as the car came with an extra 73 window which had the damaged part that I actually needed.
Now I have essentially a complete set of 74 doors that are missing, the passenger outside handle, locks, as well as a couple couple of the small rods and clips to operate them.
I do have the interior handles, rods, regulators, tracks, drivers outside handle and rod to operate it. I was able to find some of the missing hardware, which is still missing a couple small pieces, which I may have a line on to make them complete.
I'm going with the green 73 doors as they are complete with the right door panels and interior trim, that the 74 doors do not have. I have read in a thread here that the 73 stuff is one year only. Long story yes but with a happy ending.
Thanks
