Duster's next.....

-
I just have to say, as fun as it is to get the Duster back out, it has been miserably hot. That is a hinderance to some extent. Both to my comfort and health. LOL.
Can get pretty hot & humid up here too especially July to mid September.

It's getting multiple things before the next trip to the strip. I thought I wouldn't mention them all because then you get 75 posts of what you should be doing instead... LOL. What I'm doing isn't up for debate, but I'll list them as they are completed/done and no looking back and it will be on to the next item. Now, out to turn more wrenches!!!!

I got to say, some things I want are on back order, some a month out. I guess some things are worth waiting for.

Also, need to get some sub frame connectors welded in. I'm not a welder, nor do I have the equipment, so I'll have to find somebody close that knows what they are doing. I have the steel

You can get a cheap mig, not too hard to mig and is pretty handy piece of equipment to have.

yes. As Jpar would say "harbor freight" !! But I'm not learning on my sub frame connectors. Only, and ONLY if I can't get somebody to weld them in for me.

DIY subframe connectors or uscartool? If you’re doing diy connectors, I’d say that’s one of the best things to learn/practice on since it’s all nice, thick steel. Much easier to learn on thick stuff than thinner stuff.

I have the steel, so DIY. It was one of the things Jadaharabi and I was going to do. I have welded about 40 years ago in shop class, and I did a little on a job once. But I don't claim to be a welder, and if I can hire it done that is what I am going to do :)

No shame in knowing your limits. I recently paid a guy to weld my connectors and torque boxes in. We did all the test fitting and prep work beforehand.

Jadaharabi hasn't posted since January,....
I know He was fighting some toxic infection from being bit the sh*t out of by those bugs, what's up there....?

Off to a good start, knocking 2 items out of the way that were on the list. We added a sure-grip (much needed) and 3.91's (was 3.23's). Also, put a 40 tooth speedometer gear and the speedometer is accurate (I like working/accurate speedometers). No howls, all good! On to the next items for the dusty duster .... LOL

And now, it may be a minute before the next change as some parts won't ship for a couple of weeks. Onward!
