I have a '69 340

Edelbrock heads, RPM intake, custom ground hydraulic roller cam(don't have specs yet), Comp Cams steel roller tip rockers, Eagle H beam rods, SRP pistons. Had it built by "THE" local race engine guy. Strictly pump gas, about 10:1 compression. (In addition to the cam card, I need my actual static compression ratio).

It sounded NASTY! It ran 457HP at 6000RPM and 462lb-ft at 4300RPM. More HP than I expected, but much more torque than I figured on. Sweeeet!

Very nice engine that baby is gonna fly!

And this is a non stroker right?

wow!

Well done! That's better than 1.3 hp per cubic inch. A 408 stroker would have to do 540 hp to compare.

Mines Stroked To 372 Same Hp And Tq Only At 5700rpm.what,s Yours Do After 4300 ??what Are Cam Specs.??

Anything done to the heads as far as porting? Carb?

Please get the cam specs. I have a similar build using a 360. Curious as to the cam you used. Mine is not real stout on duration, but, has a bunch of lift.

Nice numbers for a 340. Good mid 11 sec engine.

What Pistons and Cam are you using?

Most of the parts in your engine are what I have planned for my 340, would love to know your cam specs though.

Tell me about it. I've been waiting with my but on the edge of the seat. That is one whoooopin 340.

Nice numbers, for comparison my 416 put out 520 h.p. and 500 lbs of tq...going 11.0's you should be running some good times too...

I finally stopped in and picked up my paperwork. The cam card reads as follows (It's a hydraulic roller):

Intake:
230 degrees at .050
.530 lift

Exhaust:
238 degrees at .050
.530 lift

Lobe separation: 108

Hope you're going to have a stout clutch for that thing! Good job!

Hey 4spd, I am on the other side of the state, great winter so far, ha! not!!, cant wait for spring. Whats that baby going in? Hope you have a good tire guy!!

Thanks for the cam specs.

Mine is a 234 110 LSA w/ 1.5 .566, w/1.6 .603

Got a bit more head work done on the eddies and a larger carb. Hopefully it puts up some numbers like yours. Kind of wish my cam had about 10-15* more duration, but, that's the way it goes.

I ordered a Centerforce Dual Friction. We'll see what happens. I'm also scraping parts together for a 742 8-3/4 with 3.91 gears and a clutch-type suregrip. Axles are old Summers Brothers with green bearings. U-Joints are 7290 (big). I plan to run some street slicks. I wonder what will go first???

Fourspeed,i just checked out your website pretty cool that 340 makes some good power...

Awesome numbers! :-D

Also planning on running a 340 with 10:1 compression, eddy heads and an RPM air gap. A little less cam though, but if I can get even in the ballpark with those numbers it'd be awesome! Won't be as fast though, as it's going in my Challenger (Dart is #'s matching). :-D
