I went out for the annual Oside bike ride n taco truck event with my neighbor and rode one of his new small tire e bikes..
It felt sketchy and I didnt like how the front tire wanted to turn going over bumps n such. Well... lol.. around 10:30pm making our way back, which is about a 3 mile venture.. I hit a pothole or something.. and ate ****.

Luckily the neighbors wife was trailing behind in her expedition. They helped me up and into the vehicle and took me home. They asked if I wanted to go the ER, but I said nahhhh. Got home and was feeling it pretty bad.. showered, burnt like hell.. then rolled into bed. Next day my shoulder was killing me and it hurt to breathe.. so I went to urgent care and got some x rays.. nothing broken, whew!.. so then I persisted about how it hurt my back and chest to breathe..which i wasn't sure if just pulled something or was sore from my workout that day earlier. Good thing I mentioned it. I have a collapsed right lung..lol they slid me into a meat wagon shipped me to scripps la jolla trauma center. I have a chest tube in now and they said I could have died had i not decided to go for those x rays. I was even going to try and work that day. They also did a CAT scan, all good.

Been in the hospital for a couple days, should be out tomorrow 'day 3'.

Good to hear you got the help you needed...

We don't take bumps and bounces as well as we once did.. DAMHIK

jeebus!

glad you're relatively okay and on the mend! at least you didn't break any ribs to go along with that crushed out lung.

be well my dude!

Get well, but I have to say I figured you for a Harley guy.
I like four wheels. That was the first and last time I'll ever ride one of those pieces of ****. I can still skateboard and not fall, but probably won't be after this. I think we all have that one experience that's kind of a wake-up call

Dangit! No more electric bikes for you! At least the food looks good.

Dang! Good thing the stubbornness wore off and you got checked out J.
Those ebikes are all over the place here! No license/common sense lol.
Remember to scream "KELLY CLARKSON" when nurse takes tape off in 1st pic

Was going to say the food looked good. There are MUCH better locations to eat it! :)

That guy thing about I'm fine... good you went to get checked out

Bouncing off the pavement is no bueno. Heal up.

I did something 9 months ago where I was at Sunset Cliffs and I decided to jump a gap in the cliffs 8 ft across with about a 4 ft height diff where the ocean ran between. I miss judged the offset and height and came down almost straight-legged on my Landing and hurt the back outside of my knee. I got x-rayed then and luckily I was okay and it apparently wasn't bad enough to deter me. 2 weeks ago.. bar fight, bounced a twenty somethings head off the floor when he charged me. By the time security pulled me off the guy and 86 me for the evening he was still sitting on his *** dazed. I think im gonna take it easy and try slip into my age character from here on out...maybe. lol

Go ahead and & try... Some find it easy... Some are a little more of the "I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up" type... My guess is you too fall into the latter group..

Damn man, those little wheels are death machines! Broke a couple of ribs a few years ago trying to climb big *** rocks on my TE300, I don’t heal as well in my 50’s…

My brother in law messed up something in his knee, I don't remember what he tore but it keeps your knee from going side to side

My dad had a little Honda scooter that had those small tires and it was really sketchy to ride. He finally decided it was going to cause an issue and sold it.

I used to love bikes, but I figure I lived through those days without any major issues, so now I am done with them.

Guessing maybe it's all about self preservation now.

Glad to hear you're going to heal up fine. We never really now just how close we can get to the end.

Take care!

Tom
