E bike adenture to the trauma center

-
I went out for the annual Oside bike ride n taco truck event with my neighbor and rode one of his new small tire e bikes..
It felt sketchy and I didnt like how the front tire wanted to turn going over bumps n such. Well... lol.. around 10:30pm making our way back, which is about a 3 mile venture.. I hit a pothole or something.. and ate ****.

Luckily the neighbors wife was trailing behind in her expedition. They helped me up and into the vehicle and took me home. They asked if I wanted to go the ER, but I said nahhhh. Got home and was feeling it pretty bad.. showered, burnt like hell.. then rolled into bed. Next day my shoulder was killing me and it hurt to breathe.. so I went to urgent care and got some x rays.. nothing broken, whew!.. so then I persisted about how it hurt my back and chest to breathe..which i wasn't sure if just pulled something or was sore from my workout that day earlier. Good thing I mentioned it. I have a collapsed right lung..lol they slid me into a meat wagon shipped me to scripps la jolla trauma center. I have a chest tube in now and they said I could have died had i not decided to go for those x rays. I was even going to try and work that day. They also did a CAT scan, all good.

Been in the hospital for a couple days, should be out tomorrow 'day 3'.

Glad you are OK.

I have no idea why, but I actually like you, so I'm glad you're OK.

I will spare you of all syrupy bullshit people usually say and just keep simple. I really wish you a full recovery so you can be here talking about whatever it is you go on and on about.

Jeeziz! You are one fortunate guy, and it’s a good thing you listened to your body! Glad to hear you’re on the mend, and while it sucks getting old, it beats the alternative.

As Max Erhmann put it in his Desiderata: “Take kindly the counsel of years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth…”

Be gentle on yourself, and may you heal well.

Glad you are recovering well from your tumble on the pavement. Been down on a bike at speed when much younger than you. Now at 73 I’d as soon learn from your experience about them little wheels.

Oh man, what a blessing you have the knowledge to get checked out, wisdom was not waisted but looks like you took a very hard spill, and I have to agree the food looks good.
Prayers for a full recovery very soon.
