Big gulp heads? And i'm 55 and waiting on energy.... "I'll do it this winter is 100% going to turn into, maybe when it's warmer out"
Weather is just starting to get nice here in AZ. Been 100-115° f for three months. Construction projects just got an exemtion so they could start at 4am. My dumpster got picked up at 4:15 this morning.
We don't have to pack it in for the day at 9 am now., so stuff is starting to get done.

yeah.. i can't deal with that much heat... only time i drive my car is to work.. and i need to keep the back door open so i can see it.. so it leaves a small window. Today it was 39 when i got to work and is like 59 now.. so.. been a chilly day in here :)

It's been brutal here too with highs in the low 80's to upper 70's. Then there's that cool evening breeze dropping the temps to the low 60's high 50's at night.

Although, the biggest problem here is Newscum is still the governor.

@33IMP what's the 62 weigh? That's my next car I want to do.
On topic, my 4.125" crank and 4.07" bore seems to do pretty good with factory heads..
Roughly 3500 with me in it (185 on a good day, 190 on a not)
Kinda depends on how equipped. Above weight is with exhaust system, and steelies and street tires.
I can save 80 lbs by removing the exhaust at the races, and save 80 more pounds with the centerlines, skinnies, and slicks, in place of the street steelies.
Since I race corked up 95%, I'd call it 3200-3250 without me.
Edit: iron head 440, 727, 3.91 8 3/4.

Thanks, now i don''t need to weigh mine :) And i was shocked how heavy my rear steels with 30" et streets are.. just wtf.. those rims are heavy...

Starting to beat on the car a bit more as i get used to it (and working brakes now) and man that little 318 spins up soo fast it's silly, i need to get a tach with a "STOP IT!" light.. can't wait to do the 408

So.. i am curious.. for a street car that wants a nice power curve and not max rpm/hp how much do smaller heads hold you back below like 6000rpm? i'm talking like 280@.500 vs. 310ish@.500? Does the extra flow come more into play at a higher rpm?
Here's a AFR vs stock 360 head about a 50 cfm gap at .500" lift, there about 65 hp and 700-800 rpm gap but the stock 360 head peaked at 5200 rpms but power was pretty flat to 6000 rpms and beyond too, so rpm difference is a mixed bag but what is clear the AFR's just made more power everywhere.
