Eagle has got big stroker cranks for 360 / 5.9!

I don’t remember what the problem was that kept haunting that 501 build(or if it was more than one thing).

well hello there :) that scoop doesn't look bad on there
An original Dart raisin bran that found its way into my garage, I don't know from where. If I had known what unmodified Dart scoops with correct Mopar part numbers would be worth, I never would have used it on a 62. Oh well!

going through the thread it looks like big money for parts not made right... even the rods were $2500 and varied in length .0025 center to center which is crazy, you can see the bushings look like they were reamed offset on some of them..

Indy head issues also.. bad machining.. just like every part needed fixing

Just read, they had lightened the block from 232# to 173 also which is nuts

Bah.. it looks good on it.. money comes and goes :) i am mixed on post or non post.. i like how non post looks but i would like my doorjambs to be where they started life also :)

33imp, i don't think i have seen your 62 before.. did you move the rear axle back also? can't tell from the angle of your pic... i ended up moving mine, the way it looked bugged me, plus i couldn't fit my tires

Despite all the woes of actually getting the motor built and running( maybe even dyno tested?) my recollection is that after it was in the car and running there were some reoccurring gremlins.

Yep. It's back an inch. Room for 30s now, 10.5x28s in the pic. Stock location just looks silly, and restricts tire height.

haa yeah, i hated it.. i wish i could move the fronts back also, or had spare fenders to cut up and try to move the opening... I have 30x10.5's on mine

Actually i think we talked bout your car before... just that angle looks different, rest of the pics were in a garage maybe. man my brain is mush...

I have some 55-57 Chevy hardtops, and 2dr sedans. Love the post cars, much more solid.
As for the 62, I bought it many many years ago from GTX John, when he was still in california. I had just traded for a pan to carbs 426 maxwedge, and it needed an appropriate home.
And now we both have AWB 62s, LOL.

Very cool... and yeah.. i didn't know bout hardtops and the quarters moving in over the years, i plan to push mine back out over winter... the door to quarter bodyline being so far off annoys me every time i see it.

56s are my favorites.... the way the trim swoops down the quarter just works for me, and not over the top like 57 trim

Actually, I found a post by Ron where he was talking about the 501.
Apparently my memory isn’t that good.
The engine had a limited number of passes on it and dropped a valve.
During the repair of that situation, other problems were discovered, and all was corrected.
There seems to be about a year of missing info(on the thread I was looking at), where during that time a decision was made to sell the car, and then the motor.
I didn’t read far enough along to figure out where that engine ended up.

A 440 small block? Holy smokes.

Those piston speeds are faster than a back seat prom night premature ejaculator

Centrifugal supercharged? That’s what that graph looks like to me. Rising boost curve.
Yes, it's a Paxton Novi 1500SL. I'm spraying methanol into the volute with a Prometh system, but no room for and intercooler. It's getting pretty crowded in the engine bay now. The dyno readout was with 11psi on pump gas with no methanol injection.

Does that fit under the hood? I had a procharger on my FFR, but with a 8 rib, not that manly 12 :)

It does, but it's getting pretty crowded under there.
yeah.. i hadn't considered on the passenger side at all.. your alt looks mounted lower than stock?

And i know crowded :( the foot box was tiny and the rear header tube was basically on my foot...

Hi Guys, during discussion with Eagle Sales Rep regarding a stroker Kit he mentioned that they now have 4.125" and 4.250" cranks readily available for 360 main size.

No complete rotating assemblies, but i thought i´d share this with you.

What Kind of Piston / Rod combination would work with that and a LA-Block? Chevy SB rod journal should make it easy to get. Regarding Pistons i have no clue what compression height would be necessary.

Michael
6.00 x 2.1 Chevy rod is pretty common and cheapish + a custom piston or Maybe “gasp” an off the shelf 4.00 LS piston?

I'll bet THAT was a fun ride! Weight?

that car was 2350#, the motor was a 383 inch 351w stroker (being 383 made life hell as people would argue with me that it had to be a chevy if it was 383... i built the damn thing..wtf) AFR 205 heads, Anderson b4 cam.. TKO trans with a ford 8.8/3.73 gears..

It was honestly too much, mainly due to the weight and short wheel base, it would break loose over 80mph.. I sold it to a guy that road raced for awhile til some roller lifter bearings came out.. I lost touch after that.

P.S. Car came with BFGs.. it made me never want to own those tires again, i switched to nitto 555r's and what a difference.

@33IMP what's the 62 weigh? That's my next car I want to do.
On topic, my 4.125" crank and 4.07" bore seems to do pretty good with factory heads..

MY opinion only!
To make a giant smallblock mopar worthwhile, it'll need a GREAT set of cylinder heads.
Most shelf smallblock heads are hard-pressed enough feeding 408.
I think I would settle for a 408, simply so I wouldn't have to spend $5k on heads. I don't think I would use less than a tf on a 408.
ON MY 4.250 STROKER I'VE GOT THE BIG GULP HEADS, WAITING TO GO IN.
I'M 80 SO WAITING ON SOME ENERGY.
