I have a '65 Valiant V100 and I am going to have to bite the bullet and patch a hole in the floor. Something about exhaust fumes aren't good for you or something...
Anyway, my car was ordered with a rubber mat instead of carpet. That mat will have to be removed or folded over obviously, and I am afraid that it will probably start falling apart. Has anyone found a mat that has a similar pattern? I found a boat upholstery supplier online that had something close, but they didn't sell samples if I remember correctly.
Just curious if anyone has looked into this and been successful or not. I could go with carpet when the time comes, but where's the fun in that?

The rubber mats are terrible about holding moisture in. That's probably what helped your floor succumb to the elements. If I had the choice, I'd go with a bare floor if I couldn't afford carpet. The rubber mats sucked.

If you're going to try and keep that mat, pull the seats out and the hold-down plates, so you can pull the whole mat loose without folding it.

I haven't seen or heard of any place selling the original mat material. Try Legendary or may be SMS. Worth a try.

High-Gloss Paint cleans-up easily and dries-out even faster!
One drip from that Heater-Core and You'll know it immediately.

Good idea. I'm not sure if this will be a temporary or permanent patch job, but if a welder is involved then obviously the less flammable materials nearby, the better!
