Early Barracuda Carpet Install Question

I’m installing a Trim Parts carpet in my 65 Cuda and I’ve gone through all the pieces and the piece I have left over for the pass through panel seems to have an extra section that extends beyond the panel (see pictures). I figured that they just didn’t finish trimming it but I want hear from someone who has done this before that it’s ok to trim this off before I proceed with the cutting.

Yes, you trim it. My understanding is that some of the 64 models had the divider board with that extension. They make it so that "one size fits all"
