Just added a body ground strap and i have my lights and more! My gas gauge now works, brights are all brighter and my hazards work on the front lights (not in the rear). I still have no brake light on the left side so I need to address that, the rear hazards not working, and my temp gauge immediately goes all the way to H. My voltmeter is no longer reading 10v when I open the door or turn the headlights on too! So fixed a lot of stuff. Thanks again everyone.
The temp sender wire is purple/violet. Sounds like its shorted to ground somewhere. That condition will eventually kill the gauge,,, unless the mechanical limiter dies first. I have seen this wire piched under the slant 6 valve cover.
The odd place to find this short... at the printed circuit board. That contact pin was shoved through the board and touching the inst' housing.
